BAAP is a jewel in our community! As a former journalist and as a daughter of a printer, I can attest that BAAP puts in the community's hands the ability to create an alternative, independent press.
At BAAP, I've helped many groups with their printing projects. I've also designed and printed flyers, tri-folds, booklets, zines and posters for the community groups I’m part of to support our efforts to inform, take action and create change. Our issues are community-driven and are very often ignored by corporate-owned local media. BAAP not only teaches how to produce a printed independent press but helps you create community while producing it!

why join baap?
If you are a media worker, do you find yourself each day being moved further and further away from the principles and purpose that inspired your pursuit of that profession in the first place?
BAAP volunteers and members participate in the hard work of building an independent press that unites media workers, low-income communities and allies together under the idea that we will not let our media be used to divide us. Instead, we build a press organization that is truthful and speaks to the most urgent needs and concerns of all of us.
Whether or not you work in media, consider joining BAAP as a member. You can use your professional skills, or learn skills on-the-job, to put the power of the press back into the hands of working people and the most exploited communities.
BAAP Members Are…
printers, graphic and web designers, journalists, artists, editors, press repairmen;
